MMOSITE HOMEPAGE
Tradelist Guide (How to make one)
Author: cptslow
The marketplace has certain rules to abide by. Keep in mind that you are NOT allowed to bump your own posts and you should avoid repeatedly creating the topic over and over again. What I recommend you do is create a trade list. A simple list of what items you have for sale and what you have up for sale.

The topic should look something like:
[BUY/SELL/TRADE][Server]Topic Title

You should organize your trade topic so that it is easier for people to read. Make it go some type of format such as Weapons, then Clothes, then Relics, then etc. so people won't have too much of a problem looking for certain items in your list. Keep in mind that you should inform people what the item does and if there are any requirements for it. This will help players in looking for items that they need. If people are interested they can leave an offer or you can provide a character name for people to contact you with.

After you make a list, you should place a link of it into your signature. This way, the more active you are on the forum, the more that people will notice you on the forum and the more times that your trade list gets posted even in sections where it does not belong. When other people see your trade list and are interested, they can post an offer and your topic will get bumped allowing you to respond and bump the topic again!

Sample Trade List:
Quote:
Equipped:
Floral Crown 3 Dagger +7
Wild Tower's Lotus Flower Jacket (+150 HP/VE, +5% crit damage, 4 Pocket)
Wild Tower's Lotus Flower Pants (+100 HP/VE, +50 dodge, 4 Pocket)
Wild Tower's Lotus Flower Shoes (+20% Speed)
Wild Tower's Lotus Flower Hat (0 Slots)
Gongsun Family's Primordial Hermit's Wristband (300 damage)

This is if you want to show what you have so people don't already try to offer you items that you already have. If they try to offer you for those items you have equipped, they will have a hard time getting it because they know you are using it. You should mention any stats on the items that you are using.

Quote:
Weapons:
Raising Light 4 Spear (Wan Daye's)
Golden Blossoms 1 Dagger (Str +2, Dex+1, 2 slot)
Elemental Crown 4 Wheels (15 crit)

For weapons you should mention special stats and slots. This will provide you with more detail. Players are also more likely to recognize the level of a weapon than the name of the weapon. If it is special, you might want to note it like Wan Daye's or Red Earth 15 critical or something of that kind. If you put something into the slots, you might also want to mention that.

Quote:
Clothes:
Gongsun Family's Primordial Hermit's Wristband (+150 damage)
National Beauty's Red Silk Jacket (+200 hp, +2% speed, 3 pockets)
Siren Lotus Jacket (5% speed, 1 slot free, 3 pockets)

For clothes you should always mention pockets, stats, and slots. The number of pockets are important if they have a lot of relics available for them to use because at times, a 4 pocket can be better than clothes with stats if they have good relics for them to use. If one slot is used already but another slot is free, be sure to mention it. Some items also have variations such as the wristbands that add damage. Be sure to note that down.

Quote:
Relics:
Revolving Chakra Bad Karma Constitution Relic (+9 Constitution, -1 Dexterity)
Five Dragons Bad Karma Constitution Relic (+12 Constitution, -2 Dexterity)
Elemental Crown Bad Karma Constitution Relic (+15 Constitution, -3 Dexterity)
Black Iron Trinket (Revolving Chakra 9, +100 dodge, +1% Max HP)
Plate of Bloody Lightning (Demon on the Threshold Bad Karma, Str+7, Damage+7%, Con -5)

Relics are the most complicated to deal with. You should state the level of the relic because almost all of them have a level requirement. There are names for the karma relics now, but it still seems easier for most people to just mention the level, type of karma relic, and what stats it boosts than to remember the fire, earth, etc. If there are certain requirements, you should mention them so other people know ahead of time and won't offer on it until they know they can use it. It would be a shame if people offered on items that they could not use and then cancelled the deal right when someone else offered something better and then pulled out on you.

If you wish to, you can add colors to your text as well. However, keep in mind that you are posting on a WHITE background. Bright colors such as yellow or light blue are a pain to read and may even hurt their eyes doing so. I recommend you try to use darker colors such as red, dark blue, or green. They are easier on the eyes. There are buttons you can click to generate them, but if want to type it, you need to use brackets. If you use the clickable buttons, the color tag will ALWAYS appear at the very end of your post. After you generate them, you can also copy paste (Ctrl + C to copy and Ctrl + V to paste) them if you don't want to keep having to type them. I cannot use brackets to show you otherwise it would appear wrong in this post. Without the brackets, it would be something like ˇ°color=redˇ±. Type whatever you want after it that you want to be in a different color and then use the brackets and /color again. If you don't do /color, the rest of the message will appear in the color that you used so it is important if you want to use it. It should appear something like below

Look I'm red!
Blue Ranger Go!
Yellow Ranger has arrived!
Pink Ranger has girl power!
Green Ranger is last to arrive
IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!!!
-Go Go Power Rangers! Some colors are hard to read no? Keep that in mind when you use them.

After you finish making your trade list, you should post it. Afterwards, you need to place it in your signature. Go to your profile at the top of the forum menu. Under the Profile Informations is Signature right above Preferences. Whatever you post there will appear after you make posts from now on. Your old posts will not have the signature attached. For beginners, just paste the URL (the www dot whatever) into the signature and scroll to the bottom and submit it. For those who don't want it to show up as a URL and want it to show up as a clickable link with a different text, you need to do something else first.

First use brackets, they look like half a square. They are most commonly found with the quote function. If I use them here, this text will not show up right. After the bracket type ˇ°url=tradetopicˇ± then close the bracket. After the close bracket you type the text that you want to appear. When you are done with the text, open the bracket again and type /url then close the brackets again. If you do it right, you should get something like this.

The Market Rules

When you are done, submit the settings in your profile and it should appear in your signature with every post you make. Now posting anywhere in the forum is like getting more advertising for your trade list.

P.S. I know I am wasting my time doing this blah blah blah. Don't I have something else better to do, etc. Apparently not.
