Why I grouped Warriors and Vagabonds:

Because they are the only 2 classes that are truly similar along with apprentice. They cannot heal themselves. They have very limited buffs, if any.

As a wu-tang future warrior and I am not sure about Heavenly Demon (they don't need basic fist leveled as far as I know). You should start out your vagabond with basic fist and level it to cheng 2 for future quests. I strongly suggest when you get lightfoot at GC1, you immediately go to hefie, then go to League of beggars or Shaolin martial arts school to get the basic fist smashing technique since it's not available at WT shan. League of Beggars would be the shortest trip and Shaolin does not allow females. This will make it easier to level up the WT fist to cheng 2(?) which is a requirement to become an apprentice for Wu-tang at GC8. I will add that you still also have to level WT sword to cheng 2(could be 3) before you reach GC8. This shouldn't be too hard if you know for a fact that you will become a warrior.

While you just so happen to be in hefie with lightfoot bring up your character sheet and click on living. Add 3 pouches, 3 big pouches, and 3 tobacco leaves to the collection you should see at the bottom. Then you should go to Wayne Daye in the center of hefie to pick up an hp jacket or vital energy pants. The jacket has more enticing stats but, it would be best to start out with the pants with a new character. You will receive a clan jacket when you join a clan. With each having 2 pockets, that's 4 free pockets you can fill up. If you create another character on the same server you can get both by using a shared bank.

While you are in hefie, if you have 1500 gold, buy the crane sachet which gives you 15 vital energy recovery and 3 weapon damage at the general store. This will help you level up your med and steps and you can be away from your computer, in peace mode, for as long as you want. Even open a stand and your med and steps will level up on there own. Make sure you turn them on though before you open the stand.

There are no definite answers in this guide as far as build goes. This requires thinking, planning, and strategizing your build. There are no specifics to build, just some tools you can use to balance your build. At times it can be frustrating. Hopefully the following tips will help those who need it.

Your build relies on you, the player's observations of your own characters fighting performance. You have started out with 13 strength and 13 dexterity or 18 strength or whatever you like. There are so many options to choose from. The slowest possible option would be to add all to wisdom (not recommended at all!) where as the fastest possible would be all to strength.

You can kill any mob that doesn't have a red colored name (with some exceptions) and any mob that isn't dark blue.

Now you are testing out on newly available orange mobs. Test every orange you can find. If you are successful with one, then try to find another to test. When done with your testing follow these steps below. You do not need your build to look like any other build, all you need to know is how to balance your own. Here are the steps to follow. Just know that step 1 is the most important. Without your foundation your warrior will not last.

Step one. Foundation. You cannot have a successful build without out this properly set up.

The best time to add strength:

Most important: (1) You lose health in large chunks rather than little by little by comparison to your vital energy. (What I mean by this is you should look at your red and blue bars in the left-hand corner of your screen and compare). You want to pay attention to percentage loss rather than points lost. Only when your vital energy is looking pretty similar to your health loss will you be free to move down to other stats that you want to add.

(2) You receive ext wounds at an unacceptable rate.

You must add to Strength and/or dex at these times. Do not add more than 2 to dex. And if health loss is great you need to add 3 or 4 more to Strength. This is a very important attribute for any melee fighter. It increases your damage and it also will give your life energy more protection.

Your over-all goal for your build is to be able to kill orange mobs effectively. You want to be able to kill mobs with vital energy running out faster than hp at all or most times and not have ext wounds appear rapidly. If you can acheive this with your build, then you get to add essence. This is a rare moment so cherish it and don't add too much. It becomes even more rare as you reach higher levels. You don't want to lose your health before you run out of energy and you don't want ext wounds to consume your health. It is better to run out of energy than to lose your life and die.

Here are the rankings of mobs and there color coded names from highest to lowest level.

Red
These mobs are at least 5 (6?) levels higher than you. You probably do not want to base your build on anything this high unless perhaps they are mixed in with orange.

Orange (Kind of look brown)
These are your over all build objective mobs These mobs are the testers to see how well your build is doing.

Yellow
These mobs are what you want to spend most of your time fighting. Add 3 to 4 to strength if you can't kill them in the manner as described above.

White
These mobs are at your level.

Green
These are one-step below your level and if you are having a hard time with these then you should really consider no less than 4 to strength.

Light blue
If you are struggling with these then your building strategy is failing miserably. Once they reach a lower dark blue level you can't level on them anymore. This is when you really should add no less than 4 to strength.

Dark Blue
You can kill these for fun but unless you just leveled and they just turned dark blue, then you won't gain any experience or kung fu level from them.

If you can't effectively kill the orange mobs then move down to yellow. If you can't effectively kill yellow, move to white, and so on and so forth. You will rarely have the ability against orange mobs, but you should always test them out and prepare yourself to fight them later. If you loose health fast then run! Return to whatever you were fighting and you will most likely want to add to strength.

Step two. Your hp saver(dodge) and ve saver(attack rating.)

When to add to dexterity:

(1) Too many misses for your tastes. If you are missing a lot then you are probably getting hit more or less often as well. I am sure in later versions of the game, you will be able to see how often you are getting hit without looking at your health bar, but until then, it's kind of hard to tell.

This stat is kind of rigid since you have to at least meet the prerequisite to your weapon. However high or low you have this stat you will need to adjust the other stats accordingly. This is how you find your balance. If you find your self constantly having to add more to strength instead and you are missing more than you would like to, then you will need more constitution. But you have to establish your foundation(strength) first before you can move on to your constitution.

Step 3 Your defensive energy.

The best times to add to constitution

Most important: (1) Your warrior/vagabond is still losing health faster than vital energy, but it is simply chipping away(about as much or less than normal leveling smashes are with your vital energy) instead of chunks by comparison to your vital energy.

(2) You are receiving no amount of ext wounds or an acceptable amount. Some may want absolutely no ext wounds to avoid annoyance. It's up to you.
