Nuker Guide - (from an Asura nuker)

Disclaimers - This guide assumes you at least reasonably familiar with the game. Not designed for someone totally new to the game, but rather for someone wanting to make a second character.
This is probably the least played class in 9dragons. This is also probably the most powerful class in terms of sheer damage. To give you an idea, at RL10 I criticalled my strongest nuker at the time during rage, and did 12,056 damage. Why doesn't everyone play nukers then? Simple. If you build a nuker wrong or level the wrong skills you won't do enough damage, you will get owned in pvp, you will level incredibly slow, and you will quit your character.
So I wanted to write this to try and help people realize the full potential of nukers. If you want to 3 hit kill orange mobs, be able to grind on dark red mobs, do 5 digit damage, take down other players who are 20-30 levels higher than you in pvp, one shot kill players the same level, and use the least expensive gear to do it, then read on my friends, nukers are for you.
First things first, you have to pick a clan to join. Nukers all use the same weapon regardless of clan (bracers), so don't pick a clan based on its weapons. However, some clans can offer additional benefits. Other clans have stronger nuker communities. I'll go over the clans and their pros and cons to help you get a better idea of what you want.
Wu Tang
Clan Buff - none
Nuker Name - Black Tortoise
Nuker Community - *
Cool Factor - ***
The good thing about Wu Tang is that there are lots of high level plays in this clan. Which means lots of strong bands looking for nukers. Nukers, especially after FD1, do extremely well in pvp, and good bands are always looking for a few to join. Being as how there are almost no nukers in Wu Tang, you would have an easy time getting in. This is because Wu Tang has no extra clan buff. The Wu Tang decos are decent lookings for the most part. Their low level nukes pretty silly, but some of the higher level ones look alright. They shoot blue lightning.
Shao Lin
Clan Buff - increase attack rating
Nuker Name - Exorcist Monk
Nuker Community - ****
Cool Factor - ****
The attack rating buff helps, but it's not as advantageous to a nuker as it would be to a warrior. It improves the attacks, but you'll see that at the amounts of damage that nukers do, it isn't a crucial bonus. There is a good amount of nukers in Shao Lin it seems. Not a large amount of players over-all though. There is only one real high level band in Asura. From what I've seen their attacks look pretty cool. Their LF looks a little silly, and they are a male only band, which contributes to their lack of players. They shoot what looks like a golden four sided spade design and/or a golden orb.
League of Beggars
Clan Buff - additional HP
Nuker Name - Dragon Beggar
Nuker Community - *****
Cool Factor - *
The HP buff is decently helpful. As nukers any extra hp is always a good help as we tend to have low HP anyway, and take heavy damage if we get hit. There are large numbers of nukers in the League. Some of the most famous as well, BachLong and now_or_never on Asura. CTK is a hybrid, but plays it as a nuker, and is probably one of, if the thee, most famous BoT character in Asura. There are a few high level bands in the League as well, but since there are lots of nukers, getting in could be tricky. The decos look silly, the meditation looks silly, the LF looks silly. The nukes are green balls with leaves coming off, and the shooting stance looks like someone about to get bach-handed. To buff themselves then turn in a circle and do a hip-thrust...very odd clan.
Sacred Flower
Clan Buff - increased dodge
Nuker Name - Mistress of Spirits
Nuker Community - **
Cool Factor - * (if youre a guy) **** (if you're a girl)
The increased dodge buff is kinda useful but kinda useless at the same time. If you're a good nuker, the enemies shouldn't ever get that close, and in PvP it's not even close to enough to do anything effective anyway. No real high level Flower bands, maybe one. I don't see many flower nukers around. It is an all girl, which is cool if you're a girl...kinda weird if you're a guy. The decos look good. The nukes seem to shoot some kind of purple haze with tarrot cards or something?
Brotherhood of Thieves
Clan buff - increased defense
Nuker Name - Armored Bandit
Nuker Community - **
Cool Factor - ***
The increased defense buff is great. Nukers get a defense buff already, so to have an addition one is really nice. As nukers our penalty in on STR, which provides defense, so we naturally have low defense, which means we take lots of damage per hit, so yea, great nuker buff. There are tons of hybrids and healers (due to them having the strongest healer weapon) in the Brotherhood so you'll always have someone to buff and heal you, which is nice. Because most go hybrid or even healer, not many nukers, espcially at high levels. Only a few real high level bands and almost no nukers, so getting in would be a breeze. Their decos are kind of interesting. Mostly animal skins, so if you like that look, they are your band. For their nukes they fire meteors...right on.
Heavenly Demon
Clan Buff - none
Nuker Name - Storm Demon
Nuker Community - *
Cool Factor - *****
Yet again, almost zero nukers in this clan because of the lack of a clan buff, coupled with the fact that it has the second strongest warrior weapon. However, there are many, many high level players and bands dying for good nukers. As far as looking good, I gotta hand it to this clan. The decos looks really cool/menacing, the LF looks really cool, and their nukes look the coolest by far. They gather in Fire and release and flaming orbs at their enemies. Their home map is a little to dreary for my tastes, but it fits the clan's back story pretty well.
Alright, hopefully know you're made up your mind, so onto the first stages of the character build. LS1 to OC1. From LS1 just put everything you get into str and buy your clans main weapon. Just play like a warrior until you get the chance to choose your role, since you get to redo all your stats at that point anyway.
At OC1 you become a nuker, grats to you, now everything changes. Agree to re-arrange your chi, and here's where to put it:
STR - 12 (this lets you use rc & fd relics when you're ready for them)
ESS - Enough to use your weapon. Set it at about 20 and add 1 point per level. This should keep you up to date for your weapons, and give you enough VE use your nukes effectively.
WIS - Everything else goes right here!!!
DEX - 12 (same as STR)
CON - 12 (this leaves your hp a little low, but the points are better spent elsewhere; use relics, elixers, and whatever buffs you can get to increase this)
More to come! In part 2 I'll discuss:
-Which nukes to buy and level, and which not to
-What buffs to buy and level up
-What defense shields are, and why to worship them
-Info about bracers, why NOT to refine them past +2
-What kind of gear you will need as a nuker
-What epithet to use during grind/pvp
-My suggestions for where to put your money
-What nukes to use for PvP and why
-What my favorite pizza topping is
-And More!!!
If you're reading this as you make a nuker, buy the OC slow nuke and a pair of basic bracers, and level the heck out of that nuke, and only that nuke. Trust me, you'll be amazed how powerful it gets so quickly. That should hold you until you get to the next good nuke, and til I update.
